Arc Raiders has a multi-quest storyline based around contaminated water, and it all starts with the Water Troubles quest. This quest sends you to the Dam Battlegrounds to collect a water sample--but if you don't know where to do so, it can be a bit confusing to figure out. We'll reduce the frustration for you a bit by explaining how to get the water sample.

You won't need to extract to complete this quest, so feel free to jump in with a free loadout if you prefer. This will ensure that you won't lose anything important if you happen to run into trouble while exploring the Dam Battlegrounds.

When you're ready to set off, here's how to complete Water Troubles.

Where to find the Flood Access Tunnel

The first step of Water Troubles requires you to find the Flood Access Tunnel. This is located in the Red Lakes area on the right side of the map. This tunnel is to the right of the Control Tower POI, so you'll either need to approach it on foot from below or make your way down to the Red Lake by sliding or taking a zipline.

Flood Access Tunnel location

Where to find the intake to the district's water supply

When you get to the lower portion of the map, you'll need to spot a massive opening on the side of the concrete wall below the Control Tower POI. This is the intake to the district's water supply.

Flood Access Tunnel entrance

Where to collect the water sample

Enter the tunnel and run through the linear pathway until you reach the filthy water pool inside. Interact with the pipe on the left to collect the water sample you came here for.

Collect the water sample here.

With the water sample collected, you're now ready to head back to Speranza. The Red Lakes Balcony Lift to the southeast is a good bet, but just be careful, as it's known to house a lot of ARC patrols and other raiders who are looting the nearby Testing Annex. Don't be afraid to be a little sneaky to ensure you make it home safely.
