HOOSAN, Kwementyaye
The Full and Executive Councils and staff of the Northern Land Council were deeply saddened by news of the passing of Kwementyaye Hoosan in Darwin on 23 November 2022.
Many of us grew to know him well over the many years that he worked for his people as a Central Land Council field officer, an NT police officer, health worker and AAPA board member among other roles where he made a unique contribution to his community and the Territory.
More recently, NLC Chair, Samuel Bush-Blanasi, and many other members and staff of the NLC had the privilege to work closely with Kwementyaye following his election as chair of the Central Land Council in April this year.
We offer our sincere condolences to Kwementyaye’s family, community, friends and colleagues throughout the Northern Territory.
