If you're looking for a budget-friendly Switch game to buy as a gift this holiday, you can snag not one, but two Mario games for $15 total. The Amazon-exclusive Mario + Rabbids Dual Pack is on sale for only $15 (was $30) for a limited time. Released in September, the collection comes with digital versions of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. Both games were developed by Ubisoft exclusively for Nintendo Switch. Kingdom Battle and Sparks of Hope are two of the best turn-based strategy games on Switch (and Switch 2), so check out this deal before it's gone.
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle earned a 9/10 in GameSpot's review. The zany XCOM-like tactical strategy game probably shouldn't work as well as it does. Super Mario and Ubisoft's weird Rabbids? What an odd pairing. But not only does Kingdom Battle have great level design and a rewarding turn-based loop, but the dynamic between the Mushroom Kingdom crew and the Rabbids who dress like them is genuinely entertaining and often funny.
Five years later, Ubisoft returned with Sparks of Hope, a sequel that is even better than the original. It also earned a 9/10 in our review. The tactical gameplay was revamped by removing the grid, giving players more ways to approach each battle. Sparks of Hope also added new layers to the character customization and upgrades systems. We'd highly recommend playing Kingdom Battle before Sparks of Hope, because you'll appreciate the character interactions more.
