Activision has announced the first DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and it'll be available at launch, with proceeds going to military veterans via the company's Call of Duty Endowment charity.
The C.O.D.E. Legacy: Tracer Pack is modeled on the real-world veteran Danielle Green, who lost her arm in combat and later worked with the robotics company Open Bionics on a new prosthetic arm. Green, who is a Purple Heart recipient, lost her arm while deployed in Iraq in 2004 when an RPG blast ripped off part of her left arm. The military police officer was conducting a rooftop security mission in Baghdad when her life changed forever.
"As I was about to return fire, something hit me," Green said. "Later [I learned] it was the blast, the RPG. When I was in the hospital, I decided to look down. That's when I realized that my left arm, my dominant arm, was shorter."
Green worked with Activision to create the DLC for Black Ops 7. She said, "This Veterans Day is special to me because I get to give back to my community and give veterans an opportunity to find meaningful jobs by being a part of the Call of Duty Endowment."
The DLC will launch alongside Black Ops 7 on November 14. Pricing was not announced, but it will likely be $20 like previous C.O.D.E. charity bundles were. All of the net proceeds will go to the charity, while military servicepeople and veterans can get the DLC for free.
The DLC pack include the Ironwill operator skin--it's based on Green and features her prosthetic arm. The bundle also include multiple weapon blueprints and other items.
Black Ops 7 is available to preload now. For more, check out the Black Ops 7 release times, including details on how to trick your console into thinking it's in New Zealand so you can play early.
