Larian Studios isn't making Baldur's Gate 4, but some of the voice actors who brought Baldur's Gate 3's now iconic characters to life hope they will get the chance to appear in future Dungeons & Dragons projects all the same.

Speaking with IGN, actor Neil Newbon, who won Best Performance at the 2023 Game Awards for their portrayal of fan-favorite Astarion in Baldur's Gate 3, said he feels that he's not quite done with the character and would be open to reprising the role in other D&D games or even live-action films.

"Most characters, once I've finished the work, especially on long jobs, and this was a particularly long job, I usually have a compartmentalization and it's like 'Great, that's done,' I'm happy moving forward to the next role," Newbon said. "With Astarion, his rhythm is still very much alive inside me somewhere and I feel I'm not done with him. But, you know, that's not my call. Hopefully at some point I'm going to reprise him and I'd love to do that, but we'll have to wait and see."

Amelia Tyler, the voice of the game's all-seeing narrator, felt similarly, telling IGN she would be open to reprising her role.

"Yeah, absolutely," Tyler said. "Anything Dungeons & Dragons or tabletop related, absolutely, I live for that."

Larian has confirmed its next game isn't Baldur's Gate 4 and that it won't be making DLC for Baldur's Gate 3, making when characters like Astarion might make their return uncertain. D&D parent company Wizards of the Coast, however, is doubling down on D&D video games following Baldur's Gate 3's success, having recently announced new D&D games coming from Payday developer Starbreeze and Disney Dreamlight Valley developer Gameloft.

Meanwhile, Baldur's Gate 3 continues to wrack up awards, most recently taking home Best Game at the 2024 BAFTA Awards along with Best Music and Best Narrative. It also won Best Performer in a Supporting Role, which went to Raphael voice actor Andrew Wincott.
