Paradox Interactive and The Chinese Room have announced that Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will now launch in October.
In a new video update, executive producer Marco Behrmann said, "Since our last update, we've added more content to the game, narrative depth, character development, and we have also evolved Fabien's role in the storyline."
Behrmann also clarified that the game is done, but now the development team is focusing on fixing bugs, improving stability, and increasing performance, so that players have the most enjoyable and optimal experience.

This is to ensure that the game meets the high standard that you deserve. We have decided to pause all Dev Diaries so that TCR can focus on elevating the game.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 was rated by the ESRB recently, and was originally set to release during the first half of this year. However, it has now been delayed once more. The game was initially revealed in 2019 with a 2020 launch, so it's been a long six years since then.
During its development cycle, Paradox switched lead studios from Hardsuit Labs to The Chinese Room. Unfortunately, that resulted in the former enacting layoffs. The game was also nearly canceled.
In Vampire: Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, players will take on the role of a customizable elder vampire. Players can also enter romantic relationships with human NPCs, but will still need to drink blood in order to survive.
