South Australia has lost a very special person with the passing of Bill Gonis, someone who succeeded in everything he did and touched the hearts of everyone he met along the way.
Against the odds, Bill achieved great things for the taxi industry, especially with the dream of a One Stop Shop, an achievement that for a long time gave South Australia the reputation of having the best taxi industry in Australia.
Through his leadership and foresight, we were brought together to work as one industry through the Taxi Council and the One Stop Shop.
Everyone in the taxi industry loved and respected this wonderful man.
To his family, we send our deepest condolences and thank you for sharing with us this much-loved gentleman.
The Taxi Council SA Board and Office staff are deeply saddened.
We will miss him greatly.
