MOORE, Stephen Thomas

We are deeply saddened to share that Dr Tom Moore has passed away.

Tom became a Board Member of The Ireland Fund Australia on 25 August 2005, and over the years we were fortunate to know not only his generosity and wisdom, but his friendship. Tom brought a love of life to everything he did — always distinctive in his style, always colourful in character, and always interested in the person in front of him. No matter who he met, he would find a connection. He loved people and conversation, and he was never without a smile and a kind word.

Tom attended more Ireland Fund events than we could possibly count, and his steadfast commitment helped shape who we are today. Since our beginnings, Ireland Funds Australia has raised over $18 million and made more than 280 grants supporting projects in education, community development, and peace and reconciliation — on the island of Ireland and here in Australia. Tom was part of that story, and part of that impact, every step of the way.

Chair Yvonne le Bas, the Board, and I are profoundly grateful for Tom’s service and for the lives changed through the causes he helped champion. Tom will be greatly missed, and warmly remembered.
