DANKS, Ian, Hilton

DANKS, Ian, Hilton

Stockbroker and public administrator

Very sad to advise that Ian passed away on 13 January 2024 after a brief illness. Ian was the beloved husband of Margaret for 67 years, after the pair met at a government employee cafeteria in Canberra in 1953 and he wisely followed her back to Melbourne. He was the much-loved father of Philip (who died in infancy), David, Jon and Tim, father-in-law of Leah, Yahiro and David and grandfather of Caitlin, Alexander, Gemma, Joshua and Lucas. A keen renovator, many will remember Ian and Margaret’s numerous home improvement projects, both in Camberwell and their seaside home in Inverloch. Ian was also an avid tennis player and golfer and an active member of Leongatha Golf Club for over 20 years.
