DE HAAS, (NEE LACEY), Catherine Mary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Catherine Mary de Haas on March 10, 2025. She was a cherished wife of Hans (dec.), the absolute perfect mother, cherished Oma and great Oma. Mum was adored and loved dearly by her children – Michelle, Mark, Anthony, Damian and Bryan. Her daughter/son-in-laws also loved her as their mother – David, Brian (dec.), Kim, Teresa, Tristan & Lee. Her grandchildren idolised her – Shaun / Jess, Renee / Andy, Braeden, Teghan / Jon, Danielle / Gerry, Chloe / Ethan, Cooper & Teddy. Great Oma to Great Grandchildren who were fondly talked about and loved – Bodhi, Remi, Taj, Alby, Avery, Apollo, Atlas, Aurora & Harvey. Catherine was a beloved sister of Kevin (dec.), Margaret (dec.), Alan (dec.), Patricia (dec.), Bryan (dec.). Sister-in-law to Betty snr (dec.), Jack (dec.), Betty. Aunty to Maree, David, Ann, John, Michael, Jenny, Paul, Brendan, Bernard, Angela, Carolyn & Madeleine. Aunty Catherine loved you all! Mum has been described by those that knew and loved her as loving, caring, selfless, never complained, never having a bad word to say about anyone, meticulous attention to detail whether it be a phone call on birthdays, wedding anniversaries, or other special occasions. A very organised person whom diarised and forward planned all occasions … especially if lunch was involved! Cath / Mums friendship group, as her friend put it, has tentacles EVERYWHERE. As a family we would like to personally thank-you all for being there for her. Mum treasured your friendships over the years. She spoke fondly about her trips away, lunches, dinners and simple phone calls which she loved and appreciated every minute of. We will all miss you terribly, however we are comforted to know you are now with dad! Love you forever!
